Which one is better for oxygen therapy – oxygen cylinder or oxygen concentrator?

Difference between oxygen concentrator and oxygen cylinder

Both oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators are used to provide oxygen to patients who require it. However, the delivery mechanisms are vastly different. Oxygen Cylinders are more common in India, although Oxygen Concentrators are becoming increasingly popular among doctors and patients. The key distinction is in how oxygen is delivered. Oxygen Cylinders contain a finite amount of compressed oxygen that the user inhales until it runs out. Oxygen Concentrators filter and produce medical-grade oxygen in an unending supply as long as the battery that drives the device is still alive. An oxygen concentrator works similarly to an air conditioner in that it takes in air, alters it, and then returns it to you in a different form. The only difference is that a concentrator cleans the air before making it available to patients with low blood oxygen levels. Cylinders do the same thing, but the oxygen in the tank is already compressed. The tank’s supply is steadily depleted until it goes dry and must be refilled or replaced.
